With more than 40 years of experience in recycling, our workshop system is a subcontract / custom work industry. Jobs are limited only by the types of work offered. We are governed by a local Board of Directors, with the day to day operation run by an Executive Director and support staff.
Our workshop operates like any other light assembly or service shop except the employees are adults whose physical or mental handicaps prevent them from competing for regular employment. We bid on contracts, and the jobs are set up in the shop in such a way that can be handled by the employees safely and efficiently. Services range from single hand assembly to complex machine operations. Work contracts need not be on-going ones, they can be once a year, once a month, once a week, or a one time only job.
The workshop benefits by receiving the contract, which provides work for its employees; the employees then have a chance to contribute their part to the economic life of the community; and the industry benefits in time and money saved.
